Why should you care?
Stretching With all Physical Activity:
If you stretch before and after you do physical activity you decrease the likely hood of injuring yourself by 5%. This may not seem like much but over time and by the sheer amount of people there are this really adds up. With all the times you or your loved ones play or do any physical activity that 5% will gradually get bigger and may have prevented you or them from getting seriously hurt.
Sport Safety:
There are about 700,000 sport injuries in a year. Some of these injuries can cause death or make you paralyzed . But being safe in sports reduces this number by 5% (35,000). Many of these injuries wouldn't happen if kids had proper equipment and learned how to play safely. To start being safe you stretch and listen to your coach as well as being smart with your body and protecting it. Some tips to be safer include coming out of the game when you are hurt and telling a coach, use the proper techniques, get proper treatment for an injury, and always be well hydrated. Be sure to play safely and have fun.
